Himarë – During The Ombudsman's Open Day, Citizens Voice Complaints Regarding Property Issues, Fire Safety, And Hospitals.

Himarë – During the Ombudsman's Open Day, citizens voice complaints regarding property issues, fire safety, and hospitals.

Property disputes, fire damage, and the lack of healthcare services were the main concerns raised by Himara residents to the Ombudsman’s commissioners during today’s meeting.

We appreciate the fact that the Mayor, Vangjel Tavo, attended the meeting and directly addressed citizens' complaints.

Issues raised by residents:

  • Lack of a hospital in the area
  • Property ownership and protracted legal proceedings
  • Damage from recent fires and compensation
  • Police conduct and respect for human rights
  • Religious community properties
  • Planned construction near the cemetery

Commissioners Besnik Deda and Erinda Meli provided guidance to citizens and processed their complaints.

Himara is one of the municipalities where the Ombudsman is holding "Open Days," allowing citizens to meet and discuss their concerns.

The next meeting will take place at the Kukës Municipality next Tuesday, October 13, at 11:00 AM.
