The United Nations has declared October 1, the International Day of Older Persons, to remind people that aging is not the end of the road, but an important chapter in life, where experience is a value for the whole of society.

In Albania, the Ombudsman has highlighted their challenges in residential and day care centers, raising their voice for better standards of care and recommending policies that guarantee their dignity and well-being.

Taking care of the elderly means respecting your history. Listening to them means enriching yourself. Standing by them means keeping the humanity of society alive!
